Sahyadri  Shikshan Sanstha was established in 1957 by Ex –M.P. Shri. Govindraoji Nikam, the eminent educationist in the state of Maharashtra
            This society possesses 300 acres of campus area. The campus area comprises various courses. There are six senior colleges such as Arts College, College of Education, College of Horticulture, Degree College of Pharmacy & College of Food Technology in this society. There are six professional institutes such as I.T.I., Polytechnic, College of Pharmacy, School of Art, Agriculture Science Center and Primary Teacher’s Training College. The society facilitates Seven hostels, a co-operative credit society and other various useful services. 10,000  students are learning in various schools, institutes and colleges of this society. 600 teaching and non-teaching employees have been discharging their duties sincerely with a view to serve the objectives of the society. We are glad to mention that the society has democratic management pattern which is a unique system in the field of education.
            B.A. Alias Bhaisaheb Sawant Adhyapak Mahavidyalay is one of the branches of this society spread all over Ratnagiri District. This college was started in 1985. This college is run on Non-Grant basis. Besides the B.Ed. degree course of the University of Mumbai, this college is a study Center of Y.C.M. Open University Nashik or M.Ed. course through the distance education medium. This college has recently started D.Ed. Course after fulfilling norms laid down by the N.C.T.E. This college has an efficient team of adequately qualified, well-experienced and dedicated teachers on its staff. Hence, this college has been providing a quality education to its student teachers. Our college is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and recognized by the Govt. of Maharashtra. Besides that it has been approved by N.C.T.E. The result our B.Ed course have been always remarkable. The library and the laboratories of this college are well equipped & as per the norms of the university of Mumbai & N.C.T.E.
            We are glad to declare the thing that our college is accredited by the NAAC with  B+ Grade.
